I really liked the sketch I did for the March Dr Sketchys, the one thing I was disapointed by was the fact that for the purpose of the posters, no background is required. This was sad as I had an image in my head of her redecorating her spaceship. So now I have a second copy on the go, of course its A0 in size. I dont seem to do things by halves anymore.

Since I now have this handy blog on the go I thought I would document the painting from start to finish, comments are welcome particularily if they are constructive in some way =) Otherwise sit back and enjoy the journey of ‘Matilda the Space Pirate’ The name I take no credit for since it was one of the girls I work with that thought of it.
The first image is the finished Sr Sketchys image photo a la iPhone, the second is the first stage of the upgrade. As more is completed I will post the photos.

Each month here in Belfast there is an artists evening run by Belfast Unbound. It’s called Dr Sketchys, it’s a cross between a life drawing evening and a burlesque night out, With added alcohol and silly yet entertaining games.
If anyone feels like dropping in it’s the first Sunday of each month at 8pm in the Menagerie.
For the last year I have been providing illustrations for the monthly posters and in march those illustrations are going to be in a show. More details will follow as I have them, for now here are Febuary & March’s images, themed on Valentines Day, and Space Retro. These are working titles BTW.

In reality, at least the one I live in, IRS going to start with entries on images I’m working on, projects I’ve started. Even the occasional link to somewhere I have found amusing. Please comment as you like and I will reply to queries as they come.
